Greenwich Academy, Brunswick School, Greenwich High School and Greenwich Country Day School would like to invite you to either of two Saturday Team Race events in 2025.
Super Saturday Weekend 1: 10x Team Race event on Saturday April 5th
Super Saturday Weekend 2: 10x Team Race event on Saturday April 12th
Welcome to the largest, pre-championship, Team Race event in NESSA as we bring together 20 teams over 2 weekends using 30 420's. This event is a fantastic means to have your team race against 9 other highly competitive teams that are outside of your local area. We are able to host 10 teams each weekend since rotations are quick and one or two schools may prefer to race only in the AM or PM.
The events will be in Greenwich, CT using 30 brand e420's (12 GHS, 6 BS, 6 GA, 6 GCDS boats). We have beautiful 2024 Zim Collegiate 420's with color coded Team Race sails.
A 3 race series will be the standard match, not best 2 out of 3. We aim to run 2 race circles in all but extreme conditions. Once we complete a full series on each course, 1/2 the teams will switch courses and we will complete a second series and continue to switch until all teams have raced. With quite a few schools in one location, we have the ability to run lots of races efficiently with all coaches and extras on the water for easy coaching, spectating and rotation. Last year we ran over 50 races on our first weekend. We will endeavor to organize on the water judging for some/all of the racing.
Year after year this event draws many of the top teams in NESSA that end up in the Teams Trophy. Every year we host several top 10 and plenty of top 20 NESSA teams. By racing with us you will help increase your NESSA TR "strength of schedule", your computer ranking and of course your overall performance for the rest of the season! 😊 No matter what, it is a great way for your team to gain experience and climb the learning curve.
First start will be at 10 AM both Saturday's.
Slots will be offered to NESSA non-Fairfield County Sailing League Teams first. After February 1st, registration will be open to FCSL teams and non NESSA teams.
