Cascadia Cup Sail Sand Point - Seattle October 16, 2010 FINAL RESULTS 13 college and high school teams hit the water's of Lake Washington under clear sunny skies and temps in the upper 50's. The first race in A division got started at 10:30 in a 3 kt Northerly. The wind dropped to almost nothing during race 2 in A when a solid breeze filled the course as the fleet rounded the leeward mark. The rest of the races were sailed in a 5-8 kt Northeasterly that slowly shifted North all afternoon. All courses were twice around windward leewards with downwind finish. 8 races were completed in each division by 4:30. A big thanks to Sail Sand Point for hosting the second annual Cascadia Cup. The goal of the event is to get high school and college sailors together to educate both about the great college and high school sailing happening right here in the NW. High school sailors had the chance to speak with collegiate sailors about their sailing programs, and college sailors got to meet some of the talent in NW High School Sailing. We hope this event can continue to grow, we missed many college teams who were sailing in San Francisco. Thanks again to SSP for the FJ's and great venue.
